Vintage air

Getting ready to place my order but have a question regarding consoles.
If anyone is running this AC system,  what, if any, console are you using?  The original, homemade, or a Hump hugger style?  The idea of having cup holders is appealing.

Appreciate on topic replies.. pics would also be great.

Thanks!

Re: Vintage air

I have the Vintage Air in my 65, and have the homemade console to fit the center vents Vintage supplied.  I did trim the outside edges of this center vent.

Re: Vintage air

Welp (tnx RPM)....IF you use the original console you won't have any cup holders UNLESS you use the hump hugger armrest

Re: Vintage air

I have long non-.ac type console that has trap door in my 66. Vintage provides both a pair of outlets to put one on each side of console or a mated pair with bifurcated opening that would mount in the center if no console was used. Then I added a humphugger with cupholders that fits on top of the original  console.
Thanks to 6sally6 suggestion many years ago, a rubber drawer liner between the two make the humphugger fit tight without sliding but can still easily be removed with no fasteners present.

Re: Vintage air

Short Humphugger with cup holders held down to the carpet with 2" velcro.  Right, left, and center louvered vents from a '66 Fairlane in custom enclosures.  The right and left vents  have a "OFF" feature which can be handy.  Humphugger will be updated for larger cup holders.

I have a Vintage AC in installed in my 69 a couple of years ago.  I cut the vent holes in my dash.
