Re: 1975 Mustang II rear end question

There were a bunch of different gear ratios available, the best of which was a 3.55:1.  On the low end they went all the way down to 2.40:1.  Best bet is to just check the tag.  It will have the ratio on it.  '75-'76 is your best bet for a decent performance ratio with a Traction Lok (these are 2 pinion carriers though).

Re: 1975 Mustang II rear end question

Downside is 4 lug axles and smaller brakes.  Attaching flanges for backing plates even have smaller bolt pattern.
I used to offer disc brackets with the bolt pattern for MII rear bolt pattern, but demand was nonexistent.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: 1975 Mustang II rear end question

I have the original rear axle assy. out of my '65 Fastback I am going to sell.  I used a 9 inch from a Lincoln  Versailles.  This is complete with emer. brake cables and diff. assy. with drum brakes and has 5 bolt pattern for axles . According to the tag on the door, F, it is 2.80: 1    I don't know if it was ever changed.   Asking $500 plus shipping.
