It only took 9 MONTHS!!!

On November 19th 2021 I ordered a 393W stroker kit through Summit Racing.  It was on backorder at the time and the estimated ship date was 10 weeks out.  Because it was shipping directly from the manufacturer my CC was charged when I placed the order.  Here we are 9 months later to the day and it finally shipped this morning and only because I reached out to eagle.  They said they had no rods for the kit but everything else was in stock.  The guy I was chatting with thought he might be able to get something done for me and told me to contact him the next day.  Don't know what he did but my kit is finally on the way!!

Re: It only took 9 MONTHS!!!

Nice. We expect a very detailed build thread for this 393 Stroker. Any particular reason you didn't go with the more popular 408?

Re: It only took 9 MONTHS!!!

I am still in the stage of Hurry up and wait.  The machine shop didn't want to bore the block until they could measure the pistons.  I am assuming 2 weeks to a month after I drop off the bulk of the kit at said machine shop.

That is the plan but we will see if it actually happens I tend to get over focused on a project and some times forget things like documentation.

I will do what I can 😂  The engine is headed for the Galaxie and I figured 393 was close enough to 390 that I could run 390 Galaxie badging.  Also being that this is getting a truck roller cam the torque is A LOT!  My desktop dyno puts it at the 470 range so it will be a handful even at the smaller size.  The 408 would have made that even more.
