Re: I think it is time for a SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR thread

This was an awesome suggestion to post photos MS, and I know they get a lot of grief, but I love the looks of the 73 Mach I. I think the 71-73 Mach I and the 69-70 Fastback are my favorite as for looks and stance,

I no longer have my 66 with the 393, but have a 97 - 351 roller motor in the shed, that I refer to as my bucket list motor that I hope to build into a 393 or 408. I would love to find the right F100 to put it in, but it may end up in the 68.

Every car on here is great in its own right,

Re: I think it is time for a SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR thread

Thursday.

January 13th 2022 was such a nice day.

And some friends down south mentioned driving their cars.

So after work, I decided to play for a few minutes and take a couple of pictures of the car outside.

Well…the Mustang drove out and then I heard the snow crust break…about 4” of snow.
Between the steep grade and the snow, I could back down just not forward.

I eventually used the tractor to clear snow for my “runway” to the garage.
Drove into garage in 2nd gear …sure like manual transmissions for situations like this.
Took me less than hour…had to laugh about it too.

Btw the boards didn’t work…runway did.

Re: I think it is time for a SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR thread

First picture taken in about January 2003 on the driveway beside our house where I did the bulk of the main restoration - The car came complete and original, but boy did it have some severe surface rust on hood, a rusted out cowl area, rusted out floors, rusted lower rear panels and before I purchased it, the car just sat in a backyard for a number of years. I joined this forum in 2003, right around the time I found the car. I think my first post was about identifying the car and whether it was worth buying the car. Mustang Steve convinced me that it was worth buying and I think his words at the time were, "if you don't buy it, I will". I definitely have no regrets and I'm glad you talked me into it Steve.

Second picture taken in about March 2022 - Runs great and is driven a couple of times a week. I try to get along to car shows when I can too. Last time I checked mpg, I was getting about 22mpg (not bad for a 289, 4 speed along with the aerodynamics of a lunch box on wheels). The car has a few blemishes and is definitely not perfect, but it's no garage princess either. I drive it and enjoy it as much as I can, while I can.

And here is a photo of the engine bay. I am convinced that I see a cobra air filter in it's future.

Re: I think it is time for a SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR thread

I am liking the sniper but I would feel more comfortable with a carburetor 1500 miles away from home it did good.first long trip 18-19 miles to the gallon with 3.73 and cam not fully tuned yet . I will never let the fear of the drive stop me I have a couple fail safe options My fuel system is adjustable from 4 1/2 psi to 70 psi I don’t use timing control so if I have to stop and buy a carb lol I can make it home. And the fuel mileage would be good if we were not running 85 most of the way with 3.73 Lmbo exspecially coming back lol it’s been on for three years  with all the reviews I am just not totally comfortable but I have a plan

Thanks. They are 19x8.5" off of a 2015 Mustang. I am still working through some rubbing issues and may end up going with a 255/35r19 series tire vs the 255/40r19 on there now to get the diameter closer to the stock size.

Re: I think it is time for a SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR thread

Are you running 6” backspacing?

Interference with fenders due to diameter?

Brian hasn’t figured out the RUBBING IS DANGEROUS thing yet!
