GT40p heads and cable clutch 5 speed. What headers will fit thinking someone mentioned some shortys

I can confirm that the JBA headers fit the cable clutch just fine. Can't comment on the GT40P heads as I don't have them. I will say that if you are planning a Borgesson power steering upgrade the JBAs will have to be dented on one tube to clear the box. If I had it to do over again I think I would go with FPA headers. My understanding is they clear everything without issue, still not sure of the head fitment though.

What are FPA headers?

Ford Powertrain Application
This is where I got the headers for my car. They weren’t cheap either. Not sure about cost for a small block car. I recommend getting them coated to keep them from rusting. I did have to dimple a tube….. the header coating did not get damaged.

Do they clear a clutch cable?

For my 390 car, a cable for the clutch is a no go..... not enough room.
No experience with small block cars to make a comment.

My first thought was say it ain't so! Sadly though, you're right, MAC is done. Man, they were the workhorse of the 5.0 market for decades. I must have installed half a dozen sets of them on Foxbody cars.
