If you're talking about the flange-to-flange distance, where the back of the wheel mounts to the face of the axle flange, the overall distance on a '65/'66 model rear end would be approximately 57-1/4". '67-'70 Mustang rear end would be approx. 59-1/4".'71-'73 rear end would be approx. 61".

Not sure if you're asking about a Ford 8-inch rear, 9-inch small bearing, 9-inch old style large bearing, 9-inch Torino style large bearing, 8.8"...?
At any rate, here are the end flange dimensions of all these plus some brand-X models;
