I'm really happy with the Magnaflow stainless steel system from Performance Peddler - it states $555 by the price is actually $407.

James, what exhaust manifolds and/or header are you using?

It depends alot on if you want to have high sound drones when idle and crusing around. Pypes has a pretty good set up with a x pipe. I'd get on to flow master see if you like the tone of the super 44 mufflers cause that's what the mustang kits come with they do sound nice even with stock exhaust manifolds as well. Do you have you're carpet in yet? If not I'd go to homedepot get spray adhesive and a roll of the bubble heat insulation and also some spray undercoating from the paint department. You will be alot happier. This way if you do the flow master way you won't get a annoyed by the drones after awhile. I even put some insulation on the back side of the door panel to get rid of road noise as well.

I got a local guy to custom bend and fabricate all my pipes. He did a beautiful job for $220. It would have been $300 if I didn't already have the flowmasters.
He ran 2.5" pipe from the headers to the flowmaster 40's with an H-pipe, then out of the flowmasters and over the axle and out the back with 2.25" pipe and chrome tips tucked in nice and neat. I love the sound.

I've got Heddman shorties. The exhaust shop had to fab a connector tube on each side. The set has a great sound, is well made, and fits very well to the chassis.

Just a note from a guy that likes the sound of a lumpy cam........DON'T use the X-pipe! It make NO noticeable increase in power and sorta "smotheres out/kills " the sound of a swweeet iding engine. They are good for helping on the rigidity of the system...and they help some on losing the drone sound on noisey cars BUTT...you woun't get very much of that "chciken-peck'in-corn" sound a a nice cam gives an engine.
Unless you are running a "boat-load of duration and a really tight LSA(less than 110*)" then it will cut-up no matter what you do to the exhaust!

I bought a JBA stainless 2-1/2" kit. It is real nice with all smooth mandrel bends and it fit together very well. It cleared everything very well, EXCEPT if my car had the stock floor support crossmember in it, there is no way it would have ever fit. And I had to cut out the crossover pipe because it did not line up with its own slipjoint in the middle. I used JBA shorty headers hoping I would have a matched setup that would all fit right. nope...
If you don't have a lift, don't even consider installing an exhaust system. Pick out the mufflers you want and take them to a muffler shop that has a good reputation bending pipes. Sit back and drink a Pepsi while the pipe guy does his thing.
Be sure to use some good quality hangers that allow movement in the system and it will not vibrate the car.
