I have one of each. Fun Race to watch.

I drove my Mini to work the other day. Made it halfway there and started realizing I had no clutch. Drove home from work at the end of the day with zero clutch to work with. Back roads and forth gear were my friend.

Re: I have one of each. Fun Race to watch.

My 2 favorite cars.  My '66 Mustang was my first new car and a '59 Austin 850 was my first car personally owned.  I still love them both.

That mini was a hoot!  I replaced the original 850cc engine with a 1100 cc version.  I installed dual carbs and headers.  It was really fast.  I had it to 110mph.  It was a terror to any Porsche of the day including the hottest one - Super 90.  It really shined in corners.  Unfortunately, I wrecked it - hit a curb and sprung the whole body.

I once had a 1969 Opel Kadett  Rallye that I lost the clutch on. The pilot bushing in the crankshaft for the transmission input shaft was a needle bearing. The bearing failed and pieces of it got between the flywheel and clutch disc. I couldn't shift out of first gear. Had to drive 10 miles to home at 10-15 mph and shutting off the engine at every stop and starting was fun too, especially if I was behind someone.
