I guess, if you are into destroying the classic look of an early Mustang, they will gladly relieve you of your money. While I think it looks good, I could never bring myself to do that radical of a modification to a classic car.

Every one that gets a set makes the original ones that much more valuable.

Where do you plan on getting gas into your tank? All I see it the trunk latch.

Is that one of the mustangs you have been working on Tyler? Lights are interesting, fer myself, just can't see  spending that much money on lights is all.

It's not as bad as a lot of the stuff that's out there, but not my cup of tea.

its clean looking but if the fuel filler is in the trunk then so are the gas fumes.

You old timers...
...destroying the classic look of an early Mustang...
...The issue now is that I can’t unsee that...

Is it really that bad?

To me it resembles the 67-70 rear panel look of the Mustang, which to me those years look is pretty dang nice. Butt, the 65-66 taillights are iconic,  and those pics show all the mods done in black, which makes them stand out. Me, I wouldn't do that change, but not a soul has ever accused me of having style.

It’s a nicely executed modification.
The price includes the replacement tail panel.

I actually like the replacement lens for stock housing, just not the price.

I said I liked it, but would never do it.

Re: There are new six peice rear taillight kits for 1965-1966 mustang

My opinion; I kind of like that blacked-out look, but it needs the gas filler to break up the black.  I also like the exhaust tips through the valance.  I don’t like the wing.
However, I wouldn’t do any of it to my Mustang.

Re: There are new six peice rear taillight kits for 1965-1966 mustang

The kit that I posted use to be cheap. It was like $60 or $70 for the kit.  For me I don't mind the looks of the taillights personally I think they'd look better with trim. I wouldn't ever remove the gas filler cap.

No this is not a Mustang that I've been building. The pictures were copied from the link.

Yes, I thought these taillights looked OK (but wouldn't do it).
However, I was never thrilled by the 'trumpet' exhaust tips.

Re: There are new six peice rear taillight kits for 1965-1966 mustang

It would be interesting to know if the panel is an overlay or if it needs to be welded. I havent read the instructions on the company's website. I would want a fuel filler cap. I've been debating buying another taillight panel and customizing it or buying the few odds and ends it takes plus time and fabwork for a 1967 taillight panel swap. I've seen in on a 1965 in pictures on a different mustang forum years back.

I actually didn't realize that there's flush fit lenses I like those. I made some transparent smoke gray lenses but I have to remake the one. I had them made so they were counter sunk then I thought I'll heat the plastic more and make the transparent smoke gray lense more raised and it didn't look right. I think that was due to it not being totally flush like your lenses. Otherwise I wouldve liked them.

I have saw a mustang at the local car show that had that installed.

We should make a list of dealership FORD or one of the dealerships brands for Mustang Add ons.  I found a list a while ago that showed Actual FOMOCo # for a 1965- I can't remember what year but Coupe rear interior quarter armrests. Looking at the drawings and also seeing a Cougar interior I think that's what couldve been an option for Mustangs. Just now thinking  i thought. Hmm I guess I could buy spare interior 1/4 trim panel and modify them to my liking.

Does anyone here have a 1965-66 Mustang with an 8 track player in the dash?
