New gauges are finally in... after nearly 10 years of development. (Good not = fast).
I got my console window and lock switches relocated to the driver side of the console. I have been wanting to revise that for a few years. Hated to cut up a brand new console, but...progress.
If all goes well (how many days in a row have I been saying this?) the new 427 will get fired up Friday for the first time.
There is nothing like a BASH deadline that gets you busy on a Mustang !

I thought I was the only one who left instructions and other assorted "stuff" in and on my car while working on it.

Finally got plug wires made up and engine oil system primed today. Tried to start it. Gets fuel but no spark. I am thinking I may have fried the MSD-6A box with all the welding that was going on... New MSD-6AL will be here Tuesday... Running out of time and energy!
And I was all fired up to hear that new engine come to life today!

There is a way to check the MSD box to know for sure.
I forget exactly how you do it but its in the install instructions.
I remember you turn key on and use a jumper wire.
One time after pulling my engine in and rewiring everything to clean everything up I hooked my msd up to a 12volt power source that gave me power when ignition was in run but not crank mode. It took me awhile to figure it out. It actually sttarted several times when I turned ignition switch back from start to run mode. The engine was spinning over fast enough when the switch went toi run it actually would start,
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
