You can't swing a cat and not hit an online carburator size calculator online.

It sux what it needs)

I agree with Sal, though if you have a 289/302 (5.0) I'd prolly lean toward a 500 - 550 unless you're planning to race it. The smaller pot will give better off-idle throttle response and be easier to properly tune for the 300 C.I. engine IMO. Seems to me that most guys tend to go too big and over-carb.

It has a 570 street avenger on it but we are wondering if it is working properly ....Car seems to just not have the power it should to me....the stock 289 2 bbl that I pulled out
seemed to be just as strong

Do you have an AFR gauge on it? If so, how well tuned is the current carb? If not, you're just guessing as to what the fuel mixture is in the circuits.

Well sure, because a stock 289 non HiPo was done reving at 5,000RPM. They were cammed to make peak power at like 4,800. Its how they had low end torque. The better cam trades some of that for more RPM and power potential.
Definitely check to see that the carb is doing its job, but a better question might be what trans is in it and what rear gear does it run?
Worth mentioning, but what about timing?

The 570 SA should be fine. Did you just bolt it on out of the box? If so, tuning is in order.

Upgraded Fox trans using the 068 cluster gear set (350-400 HP), No synchro on rev. Added cluster support plate &, billet 3-4 keys
