Too late MS.

Steve, Glen, and I accomplished this feat starting Sunday into Monday morning.
We drove from Bakersfield, CA to Van Horn, TX.
BTW, I did not hear about this until we stopped for the night.

Here’s my screenshot at 9:06 am next morning.

Although its been a few years, the pony has brought me a few awards, but I must say my favorite award was this one, not quite as long as Dans, but I think it is what MS intention of the bash were all about, Do hope to get to another one someday and yes it will be in the Pony

Still at machine shop, engine boiled out, took summer off, life got in the way, maybe start on things over winter, haven't decided what we are going to use yet. 

1000 miles in a day??? Wow - I just drove 200 miles from Seattle to Portland area and my butt and back were complaining - and that was in my 2017 Explorer! Your "equipment" must be better suited to long haul drives.

I have one of those Long Distance awards as well. From Canyon Lake, TX to Michigan for the BobC Bash in Dearborn, MI. 

The secret to beating Dan at a LD Award is to go to a bash that is close to his place!

That's not any guarantee .... He'll probably go via Houston. 
 

Well, according to Gargle Mops, total mileage from Atlantic Mine to Marysvill, Ks (Allan' place) to Pine Junction, CO (RV6's Place) to Montrose, CO (my place) to Bako (the bash) to Houston,TX (Glen and Steve and Coupe Daddy's Place.  And Dans brother, I think) and then back to Atlantic Mine, MI is a total of over 5600 miles.  Add in all the general running around everywhere (I know he did around 300 at the bash, I know I did) and it ain't hard to see just short of 6400 miles.
Hell of a  cruise, LT.  Proud of you and your very fine '65.  Everyone should strive to make their classic drive as sweet at your car.  Mine is decent but I will work hard to make it as fine as yours.

I think the meandering route is totally valid, as long it is all in the same trip with the purpose being to get to the bash.  It just shows confidence in the car and a willingness to get out and drive it, which is why the bash was started in the first place.

Those Long Distance awards are truly earned.

These were the major stops.

“1/4 tank” level was checked few times.
A 22 gallon tank allows me plenty of options for filling up.

Now, if I could only drive to QLD, Australia.😁

We got a bit of snow on a coupla nights in the week after the Bash in the Sierras. CA
