Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

That are flooding amazon and ebay?   I was seriously thinking about ordering one just to see the quality.   Anyway...

I just bought some Felpro 9333pt -1 on closeout on rock auto.  $12.00   I noticed the price of head gaskets is going way up.   So fyi if anyone is needing some.  They still have some left.

FEL-PRO    9333PT1    Cylinder Head Gasket
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty    $ 12.10    $ 0.00    2    $ 24.20
Shipping    Ground    $ 10.99
Tax         $ 1.49
Order Total         $ 36.68

Balance Due         $ 0.00

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

You will have to throw me a bone Greg..

I do not see $6 head gaskets for 289 or 351w.

What are your “key words” for the search?

Just curious what they look like.

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

Just type in 9333pt  on either eBay or amazon.  They pop up.

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

9333pt-1 is a good gasket for iron head engines

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

I found your gasket on Rock Auto.

The company description on RA makes me think that they are a “global sourcing company” throwing the “Made in Germany” B.S. as a green country for sales.

Of course the company name on the “box” is different.

I did not find what the gasket is constructed of either on RA or Amazon.
Reminds me of a “Printoseal-ish” design.

Yeah, one of the world's leading supplier, yet no one has ever heard of them...

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

Well, if I'm installing head gaskets (or other parts that require significant efforts to replace again), I default to paying a higher price for what maybe no better product than the cheaper one, but I'll feel better about it (even if it is a false comfort).

Yepp... never said I was going to use them, I just noted it because it's a heck of a price.   Lots of things it's best to defer to the tried and known quantity.

That said, if I had an engine I didn't really care about like a derby car or such, I'd consider it.  Apparently this company supplies oe manufacturers.   At 5.33 free shipping, it's really hard to not let curiosity get the best of me.

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

Look at how my Felpro head gaskets arrived!   (Shakes head). At least I got a magnet.

Edit:  RA is making this right and sending out a replacement order.   Quickly responding.  And hopefully packed better!

For want of the words "DO NOT BEND" on the package...

Re: Anybody seen those six dollar head gaskets?

Replacement just arrived in good shape.  Packed in the exact same size box, and all the same way.  Just a different shipper.

Received a Chevy impala magnet...lol.

It's all good.
