Adding LCA inner bushing camber adjustment

On my 66, while installing the new rack, I decided to add the Opentracker LCA pivot adjustable brackets so I could get the camber correct.
$129  Camber kit from Opentracker
$59.99 + tax for new pneumatic die grinder (30 year-old one I had would not do the job)
$69.99 + tax burr bits for the die grinder  (all my old ones were dull)  One out of four new ones broke in half doing right side.
$114.36 pair of new Moog LCA assemblies (Yep, the WYAIT monster still is alive and well in TX)

$373,34 + tax and shipping so I could get the camber adjusted.  Bolts on UCA were too short to add more shims...

Oh, yeah... Add another alignment for $149...  Total now over $522.00  Holy moly!

Re: Adding LCA inner bushing camber adjustment

YOU, pay for an alignment? C'mon Steve. You gotta have the tools to do an alignment, it's easy peasy. A digital level and some string is about all you need.

Re: Adding LCA inner bushing camber adjustment

I use the Fastrax gauge and a set of turn plates (the tape measure I already have doesn't figure into the cost).  There are cheaper ways to do it, but the tools paid for themselves on the 2nd alignment.  Frankly there's no one around here I'd trust either.

I already have the GW upper arms. Bought used from a forum member years ago…

Re: Adding LCA inner bushing camber adjustment

Steve, did you cut out the whole slot? I'm thinking of only cutting from the original hole outwards. I should never be looking for positive camber, so why cut it all out??

Re: Adding LCA inner bushing camber adjustment

I thought of doing that, but bought a new die grinder and set of bits, so the grinding really got sped up. This way, I am covered no matter what parts I use later.

Good move, thanks for sharing the details.

I have the die grinder and burrs, I also have fairly new spherical/stiffened/screw in BJ lowers all installed. Sitting on the shelf, I have the OpenTracker camber kit, so from here on out, hoping zero dollars. I like the zero part.
Nice camber kit, really nice. Just need to install it.
My last (well, only) RPM alignment was a bargain at $50 for gas money. He clearly works too cheaply. But that exercise showed that I really need to get on the stick and install the kit. Zero camber on the pass side IIRC 1* of camber driver's side.
I do need to time my alignment just right because Bob injured a disk in his back picking up a 14" brake disc. Disgusting.
