I was curious about if the granda spindles shafts are shorter that mustangs ?Because they use a lower height rotor then mustangs use.

Huh?

I'm assuming that he means that if you lay the rotor flat on the ground, the "hat" part isn't as high on the granada rotor as it is on a mustang rotor? I'm also assuming he means that the spindle part isn't as long as the mustang one is either? I don't have an answer for you, maybe he will clarify.

Yes sorry wrote that a Lil to early in the mourning for me today. Yes the hat isn't as high on the granada correct? And the spindle isn't as long correct?

Still have no clue as to what you are comparing the granada spindle and rotor to? What year mustang spindle and what mustang disc brake rotor are you talking about? And if your mustang already has disc brakes, why are you looking at granada stuff?

I'm just curious about the granada spindle vs 70 big bearing disc spindles because my friends restoring a 70 mach 1 and i was just curious if the granada rotors were the same as the mustang. When I was looking at rock auto the rotors were different and granadas were like an 1" shorter from those specs and that Doesn't Seam right.

Once again Google provides some answers. This is from another site and was posted by Ultrastang back in 2011. If I read this correctly, the rotors are a differnt height/offset because the two systems used different calipers. It appears according to the info below that the spindle stub itself is the same lenght, OD, etc. It also points out that for a 70 there is little to be gained from swapping because there is little difference in rotor diameter. So, I am simply pasting here and take no credit for the information.
In reference to the '70 Mustang disc spindle vs. a '76 Maverick/'76 Granda disc spindle, they all share the same critical mounting point locations. They also share the same size inner & outer rotor bearing sizes. The two differences they do have are the upper caliper anchor bracket mounting bolt diameters and the outer tie rod hole diameters.
The '70-'73 Mustang upper caliper anchor bracket hole is designed for a 9/16" bolt. The Maverick/Granada upper disc brake caliper anchor bracket hole is for 1/2" diameter bolt.
You could put '70-'73 [actually, '68-'73] Mustang rotors and calipers on a Maverick/Granada front disc spindle If you drilled the upper Maverick/Granada disc spindle anchor bracket hole out to 9/16", and use the Mustang's caliper anchor bracket, along with the Mustang's caliper and rotor. For the outer tie rods, you would just need to use the outer tie rod specific to the year model Maverick/Granada spindle being used.
If you wanted to go the other way, the Maverick/Granada front discs could be put on the Mustang disc brake spindles by using the Mav/Gran's rotors, Mav/Gran's caliper anchor brackets and calipers [upper caliper anchor bracket hole on Mustang disc brake spindle is already large enough for the Granada upper caliper bolt]. The outer tie rod to use would be determined by the year model Mustang disc brake spindles being used.
However, even though this can be done, there wouldn't be much point since the '68-'73 Mustang disc brake rotors are only 17/64" [.26"] larger --[only slightly more then 1/4"] than the Mav/Gran's rotors. i.e. --no significant gains in stopping performance between the Mustang's 11-19/64" rotors vs. the Mav/Gran's 11-1/32" rotors. If the Mustang's rotors were 1", or greater, in diameter than the Mav/Gran's rotors, then that would actually equate to a major performance difference worth noting.

Awesome I for thanks. Just seeing that rotor hat height difference was odd. And I thought would decrease track width. The only reason was my buddy wanted my granada rotors for his car as he doesn't have any rotors for it now and he just needed some to move it around to but I didn't wanna give them to him if the spindle shaft length was different
