Can't post picutures -

Tried to post a picture as I have usually done, and it will load, but not upload to the website. Tried the same thing I have always done - and it doesn't appear on my posting. What gives?

Re: Can't post picutures -

As you can see above, the following steps just worked for me.  I'm using Firefox on a Windows 11 pc.

First, I took a screen shot of your post which put it on the PC clipboard.
Then, I clicked the "Post Reply" button on your thread.
Then, I clicked the "Upload" button on the Post Reply window.
Then I used CTRL "V" on the keyboard to paste the image from the clipboard into the upload window.
Then I clicked the green UPLOAD button to actually upload the screen capture.
Finally, I Submitted the post to the thread.
These are all of the detailed steps I used.

Worked for me. I did have trouble a couple of days ago.  Took three tries to load pics of my bbq pit.

Re: Can't post picutures -

I followed Rufus68 instructions and was able to post.  However, I usually upload photos to ImgBB, then add to the MS post from ImgBB.  Rufus68's method is easier.

Re: Can't post picutures -

I tried all the above mentioned methods and nothing worked. I finally was able to post using my phone. Why doesn't it work on my PC? I am using Windows 11 and a Firefox browser.

Re: Can't post picutures -

Not sure this helps, but I have 'Window 11 Home' and use Google Chrome as the browser on my laptop.
I have never tried to use my cell phone.
That's all I've got for assistance.

Could you expand on what incognito mode is and how to get into it? Thx.

Re: Can't post picutures -

Ci am using the Chrome browser and the incognito mode is in the upper right corner with three dots (settings). Microsoft has it named New InPrivate window.Tried it with that on this and worked fine.
You can also use Control+Shift+N to open the InPrivate window.

Ron,
When you tried following the steps I laid out in post #3 above, exactly which step did not work as I described?

I following these directions except for the first “screen shot” step.
Instead, I opened a picture from my laptop, clicked ‘copy’ and then followed the remaining steps. Note that the picture will post as a text but will open into the picture when submitted; click on the preview button to view it.

Re: Can't post picutures -

Yup, tried all that many times. I click on "upload" and the image uploads, but in the past it would automatically immediately post in the reply box as a text. It doesn't do that any more. I get no auto posting text, or anything. Tried the URL, Link, everything. No joy. Guess I will have to post all pictures from my phone, if I have them there.

Would not your pictures originate on your phone? Who owns a real camera these days?

Yes, but I have a lot of pictures on my computer that aren't on my phone. Pictures that I downloaded from my camera in the past.

Re: Can't post picutures -

I posted this picture from my computer.  In the upload window there is a "browse from your computer" link that I clicked.  Then I selected the photo and clicked Upload.  It generated the URL code for the picture underneath which I typed this text.  Then I clicked Submit to post the reply.  The same process should work for you.

Did exactly as you did and still no joy. That is the  exact way I have done it before, and it worked then. Maybe something in my browser settings....perhaps I will try another browser.

Well, I will have to check my Firefox settings - this is posted from a Microsoft  Edge browser.  Sorry about the large format.
