Check out the new old Mustang

WOW... now THAT should be the next Mustang design... not this Euro-crap they've currently got planned.

Re: Something old has been updated

Probably would not need to install sub-frame connectors and torque boxes in that one!

One nice variation on the theme.

Re: Something old has been updated

Wow!......... I like 90% of it,  I don't like the weird front end, or the stuck on looking rear bumper. To me the front looks strangely like a modern challenger, with ah 70's road runner hump in the middle. And the rear bumper doesn't flow with any body lines (stuck on). That being said, the interior looks amazing and the rest of the body mods are subtle and tasteful. I'd like to see some chassis specs. If I had to guess it looks like they fit a Dynacorn shell over a modern mustang chassis?

Agree, but $253,000 to $290,000 sounds a little steep...

Re: Something old has been updated

BASS? Does look a little like a fish... 770? Ugh, what a hodge-podge. Even at 3640lbs though the chassis does look pretty sweet and it'd probably be a lot of fun but I'd just feel dumb driving that thing.

Horsepower: 640 HP at 6500 rpm
Torque: 605 lb.-ft. at 3800 rpm
Top Speed: 200 mph
0 to 60 mph: 3.4 s
Gearbox: 6 speeds rear-mounted dual clutch
Tires: 255/40 ZR19 front and 285/40 ZR19 rear michelin Pilot Sport
Handling: Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Performance Traction Management, Active Handling System, Traction Control and variable-ratio power steering
Braking system: Brembo® 4-wheel ventilated, cross-drilled carbon ceramic matrix rotors with 6-piston 15.5” front and 4-pist on 14” rear calipers with ABS

The more I've been thinking about this EQUUS BASS770 car, the more I actually appreciate that I own the "original" real thing '67 Mustang (even if mine is a coupe and heavily modified) and not a modern copy of it.

Re: Something old has been updated

Curb weight 3640lbs??? They claim the chassis, and the outer shell is aluiminum "skinned" with carbon fiber? An original STEEL ,67-68 weighs oprox 2700lbs, sooo how did they manage to add ah 1000lbs to the car I wonder??
