Anyone put a dead pedal in their vintage 'Stang? Mine's a '66 and I'm thinking it would be nice to have a place to rest the left foot when cruising, firewall's too far away and if I bend the leg to get the foot flat on the floor the knee knocks into the door handle and other stuff. Also thinking it would be nice to move the highbeam switch forward and put it a little higher up, either just above or at the top of the dead pedal maybe.
Anyhow, just looking for ideas if anyone has done anything similar.

It would be cool to eliminate the floor hi-beam switch and put it on a stalk. Sure are alot easier to operate up there. I took the dead pedal out of my 200 Jag XKR and kept it when I traded it in. It simply bolts to the side frame rail structure. Would be real easy to do. I think they offer them for Fox or later Mustangs as well. I am one of those FLATFOOT drivers that likes my left foot flat on the floor so I can prop my left hand on my knee and cruise with one finger on the wheel. My 66 is alot more comfortable in that regard than my 07 GT that has a sharp corner in the door panel.

I have done it. Put it just below the dimmer switch on the floor, all I have to do is then operate the dimmer with my toe, but I was prepared to move the dimmer switch up higher if I had to. It is simply screwed to the floor. I had considered moving the high beam switch to a stalk, but decided I had too many more critical things to do with my time and brain power.
Search eBay for "dead pedal" and you will find many for sale from salvage, I put a Billett Lokar one from Summit racing in my Avanti, monted on a block of wood first. The Avantis have notoriously deep floors, apparantly at the specification of president Sherwood Egbert who was very tall and insisted they be that way.
