Cruise control built into the Turn signal question.

About a year ago someone posted a pic of the cruise control that was made on the end of a turn signal lever that would fit our cars.  Did a search but didn't find it.  Did anyone by chance save that link in their favorites?   Or remember who posted it?

So please, Rudi, tell us again what you used.  I have an Audiovox CS-100 (I think) but it controls with a little panel that I've had mounted at the rear of the shifter bezel.  I'm doing a custom under dash harness and now would be a great time to move the Cruise controls to the turn signal arm.

Re: Cruise control built into the Turn signal question.

Mine is made by "Rostra" and I used their Ford dedicated stalk. I doubt that their stalk woud be compatable with other makes .

Yes I believe that is it, thanks. Looks like you have to cut the original and then thread it or make an adaptor so that the Rostra one will screw onto it. The Rostra looks like it has a female end to it.

The Rostra stalk will screw directly into the Ford turn signal mechanism, it is dedicated.

The "Word" on the CCS 100 Audiovox cruise control and a control stalk on the turn lever.

Well, I did a bit of research 'cause I've decided that I really want to move  my cruise control controller to the  turn stalk.  Seems that some guys have used a VW Vanagon stalk with the built-in cruise buttons on the CCS  100 and it works just  fine.

Butt (TS&T), the VW stalk with cruise buttons is very obsolete and made from unobtainium.  Then I went to Sumit Racing and searched for cruise control replacement parts and found a  Rostra stock that attaches to the original TS lever.  It has the same four wires coming from it that the Audiovox control panel has but is labeled  a "contiuous".

I assume that means that the  "power on" is a continuous instead of a momentary switch.  There's no reason for the Res or Set to be continuous.

This afternoon I went to the shop and powered up the  control panel for the CCS 100 and yup...the switch is momentary but it applies continuous power to the servo/processor unit.
So it looks to me like that stalk should run the Audiovox cruise control just fine...so I ordered one.  Only problem is that  Sumit charges "totally stupid" for the shipping.

Here's a link for anyone with a CCS 100 that wants to use a stalk controller.

Re: Cruise control built into the Turn signal question.

That looks like the one that Rudi mentioned, only thing is I didn't see the one for the dedicated Ford stalk. The instructions says you have to cut the original stalk and I guess thread it so you can screw the Rostra on. I might call Summit to get the one with the Ford stalk.

Re: Cruise control built into the Turn signal question.

Just a little "heads-up" on the CS-100 cruise control. The "instructions" are written in Japanese/Kiwainese or something THEN translated to rough English(I think). Anyway.....the instructons are pretty hard to follow.
I did learn you DO need the tach wire AND the speed wire hooked up even if you don't think you need both of them! Huh.BB?!
Also......if trying out your work and think you will just jack the rear wheels off the ground to test it........won't work! Gotta have some type of resistance on drive wheels to make it engage.
Ju' say'in!

Re: Cruise control built into the Turn signal question.

Sal, I know that it took awhile to get it to work right butt(TS) how do you like it now, and does it work correctly?  What controller did you use? Is it an original Ford cruise or an after-market?
