help?! i am assembling the clutch on my 5.0 engine to my tremec 5 speed , having never done this so i watched a couple videos and they both point out that there are dowels to position the pressure plate to the flywheel , the dowels are like studs and apparently slide into pressure plate , well my pressure plate has lots of holes on the perimeter and i can get three of the holes to line up with pressure plate holes but on my pressure plate the holes are threaded ??can i assemble without these dowels or are they critical , does someone make threaded dowels ? my local ford dealer couldnt find any dowels in their computer pics ?once again iam here lookin for the answers , any help ?let me know , thanx , mikey oh yah it is a 1990 5.0 and aftermarket tremec 3550 tranny , a valeo stage 2 clutch ,thats it

These are what you need: Ford Racing Pressure Plate Bolt and Dowel Kits M-6397-A302 from Summit or such. The flywheel will the holes that are stepped and you tap these pins into them.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
