MustangSteve, question about brakes, Lincoln Versailles rear.

Steve, you have one of these in your mustang, correct?  Are you still using the lincoln rotors and calipers?

Re: MustangSteve, question about brakes, Lincoln Versailles rear.

I have a Versailles rear end but with my COBRA conversion.  Lost alot of weight and alot of brake drag.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: MustangSteve, question about brakes, Lincoln Versailles rear.

Thanks.  I'll look into finding the cobra brake donor parts.   Sent you an email about ordering some other parts.

Re: MustangSteve, question about brakes, Lincoln Versailles rear.

Hey all. My first post here.

Anyhow, I picked up a Versailles rear since it was relatively inexpensive and a 9" to boot. This was a popular 9" back in the 80s when I had my first 77 Cobra II but never got around in getting one. Having been out of the Stang business since 99, I bought a nice 77 Ghia and decided to put the HP in it and went looking for a 9". These fit well in the IIs but after reading post after post about rear brake shenanigans, I came across MustangSteve.

I just want to use the smaller SN95/V6 rear brakes so I can keep using 15" wheels. Do I still use the stock axles with no issues? Also I want to step up to 31 splines anyway and just need to know if I need the same length or not
