My particular swap is going to require a ~50" (u-joint center to u-joint center) drive shaft. I found that 1998-2004 std cab/6 foot bed, 4cyl, 2wd, ranger trucks have 50.5" driveshafts with 1330 u-joints. unfortunatly the slip yoke is the wrong size. I picked one up at the salvage yard with good u-joints for $20. Going to get it shortened 1/2-3/4". should be able to have a complete shaft for less than $100.
In my search, I found that CJPony offers a swap shaft without slip yoke for $207, it's listed at 50" in length.

Good info, thanks.
Before you spend $$ to have it shortened, why not install it and see if it fits as is and has adequate travel....??

I installed the transmission today and was able to actually measure for what will fit, 50" will give about an inch of travel room.
