I do to not bad at all wish I had a front view. I wouldn't mind having an early maverick. If they are done right I think they would look pretty dang nice personally I know some people really don't like them.

It sure looks better that the later model with the crash bumpers.
Here is a decent one in LA. Probably a little overpriced, IMHO, but decent.
Not much detail but it looks like a better deal. All original and only 60k miles.
Here is a one owner CA desert car, with air and only 79k mi. A little pricey again but I doubt there is any rust, anywhere.
If I were to take on another car project, it would either be one of these or a super clean Fairmont. I think these Mavericks are still easier to find in decent shape,

Thats a very nice Mav. That was the 1st car I went over a 100 mph in. So they have a special place in my mind.

Like I stated above mavericks look good if they are done right. The blue maverick I had the pic of I saw one day when I chose to venture down a new road on the way home

I had a 71 or 72 Comet GT. I bought it back in 1988 for a winter car for $275.00. I wish I would of kept that car. It only had a little rust on the Back Fenders. It was Green and the cool hood scoop on it with a 302. I kept it for the Winter Season and sold it in the spring for $500.00.

Sort of off your topic, but I always wondered, were the tail lights the same as used on the Mercury Bobcat?

My question would be, if you undertook a Maverick project, what is the availability of parts and pieces to do it. Certainly, due to their age, they would need many things. Many a specimen, regardless of how sound and complete, would undoubtedly need many things to bring it up to standard.
I also doubt you would find few donors in the salvage yards to help you along.

Well motor tranny and all that would be easy seance they're same as a mustang metal work another story but can easily be fabricated with some skills. Other than that interior pretty easy unless chrome trim is what ya need
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
