hello everyone,
I got a 1-wire Alternator on my 68 mustang. I undertand the how connections are (+ -) , on the alternator but I am confused on the altenator feed ( I colored it Green and Blue), how to connect it and if I am supposed to use the Alternator regulator ... (this 1-wire altenator is has a internal regulator)
Has anyone done this job before?
My other question is, where does the Radio, Headlights, brake lights ETC, get their power source from? (i know is battery is where it starts) I have a 64.5-73 diagram but is for a stock alternator.
any information will help
Thanks

I tried all the supposed fixes to the stock amp meter to work with no success, that was before i put in an all new instrument set up with a voltmeter.

What type of 1 wire alternator are you using, 3G, 2G some other? Yea you should be using the alternator internal regulator. On a 3G ford 1 wire alternator, there is a larger output wire. There is a wire that goes to the battery to measure voltage for regulation, and I think a wire that goes to the run position fron the key to send excitation voltage to the alternator when the vehicle is running. Don't know why they call them 1 wire.

Profeth if that is a Ford 6G alternator, from what I can find with a little research is there should be a 3 prong connector near the large battery wire, just like a3G. Is there a 3 prong connector? If so you will need the 3 prong plug, sold separately, or found at the local pick and pull. Probably the same connections as a 3G but I wouldn't want to sat till I know for sure, maybe someone else does.

No is just a Positive tab and a side Negative tab for ground connections. I think i know what your talking about the 3 prong connector. but that is if I want to re-connect a volt meter or a am meter. I just wanted to connect the Positive and negative. What I am wondering, is what i'm going to do with the Stock Pig tail connections...... I am assuming that I should just leave that alone and I am also assuming that the Headlight, Radio, dome-light ETC, get their source of power from the INFUSE BOX? ...
