Some Forward Progress on the 66

Hey Guys, Gals, Finally got some stuff installed this week and got the engine, tranny and driveshaft in yesterday....Found the serpentine brackets I needed and got stuff painted and installed on the front of the Motor Friday/Saturday.. Ever had one of those days nothing goes right...Sunday was one of those days...my Patriots got their Buts kicked. Normally I would use a more colorful word than that, but I used them all up Sunday putting the engine and tranny in and cursing at my football team. A BIG thank you to Corky and Scottie and my son Zack for helping get the drive train in and sticking around when things were not going as planned. What should have been an hour or 2 job took close to 5. Instead of getting the engine and tranny in by 2 , and spending the rest of the afternoon watching the Pats Win the AFC championship (NOT), spent the afternoon swapping motor mount plates this way and that trying top get all the bolts to go in. Should have called it earlier when I put the flywheel and clutch on the engine and then tried to install the dust cover that goes between the engine and tranny. Off with the clutch and flywheel to install the dust cover, then reinstall the flywheel and clutch and T-5 tranny. Corky and Scottie finally figured I had used the wrong mounting hole in the shock tower...there are 3 on each side...unfortunatly, I picked one of the ones not used. Only been 2 years since I pulled the motor out!
Broke a spark plug off after I warned Zack to be carefull. Went to hook up the driveshaft and realized the nut that fell off the car last week that I had no clue where it went, was off the u-bolt that holds the driveshaft to the pinion yoke. Sat on the bench for 1/2 a week before I put it somewhere...and still can't find it!!! Today was a little better... only a few foul words when I ran my back into the hood latch welding the header reapair. Had to cut a section of the headman headers out for interfering with the pitman arm. fabbed up a couple pieces to get the clearence I needed and got headers temp installed. Anyways, hope your Sunday was better than mine.
