Got an "off-topic" problem to discuss.......

I've been chasing an "intermittent" skip/miss on my little S-10/4.3 engine.
The other day I paid a co-worker/ASE mechanic to change out wires..plugs...distrib cap...button..and other stuff........still had the miss. A little better but still....no joy. One of the injectors was plugged up..changed  that....fuel pressure regulator...changed that...cleaned EGR..nope....fuel filter...changed that....results...nada!
SeaFoam in fuel tank.....zip! Called a friend who is a GM mechanic and made an appointment for him to figger it out.
Decide to find out just WHICH cylinder is the problem.
Bought a new plug because "sometimes" a new plug can be bad.
Went throught 5 cylinders before I isolated which cylinder was the problem.
The "kid" must have not checked the gap on the new plugs because one sparkplug had ZERO gap. Re-gapped and it runs "slick-as-snot" again!!
Morale of the story........do your own work.

PS.....had a nice "word-of-prayer" with the kid!

Wow that's all I can say. He must of dropped a plug ha ha or something I had a guy in my auto class do that and he was a lil tight on the cash and so he bought new new wires but he had to put the ends on well he didn't even get the wire in there right so the wire wasn't even hooked up ha and he didn't even push the plugs on all the way. Ha he couldn't figure out why it miss fired. I told him how about fifty and I'll fix it five minutes later pow. That's someone who I wouldn't want working on my stuff
