On the many 1970 Mustangs I owned that happened to be automatics, I used the stock shifter. But, then, I was not racing. I had to rebuild every one of them with new bushings and indicators and bezel rubber, but once rebuilt, they worked fine for getting from P to D. They were NOT much good for trying to row through the gears.
Are you building a race car?

no race car here. just having trouble trying to find all the parts to a stock shifter. we had this hammer left over and figured we could mock something up to make it work.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
