89 GT

i'm stripping a 89 GT mustang, already used the 5 speed.....what else besides the motor/wireing/computer should i take off before takeing it to the crusher!!   can anything be used on an older stang ??  brakes etc....??    thanks,  Jim

Hey Jim,

Some of us have Fox mustangs and could use parts.  After you take what you want off of it,  what do you have left? Is it a convertible?

Rear is the right width for a 67-70 Mustang.

save the front seats, rear tail lenses if they are decent, front headlights (if they are clear) along with front corner lights.
If you know the power windows and locks worked, save the door lock and window door switches.
Also, save the coil mounting bracket, and the vacuum "tee" that mounted on the firewall

Is the drive shaft steel or alum?

What color is the interior?
Black is not so common so if the interior plastics are good: ie, dash, door panels, rear quarters then keep them too

rad shroud and overfloiw tank

Keep the fuel pump emergency shutoff switch and bracket.  Anyone with an electric fuel pump needs one of those.


Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

thanks guys, what i will do is after everthing is stripped off the car i will post stuff for sale at a reasonable price!   its a coupe by the way with red cloth int, i'm keeping the front seats for my 65 vert, but there is good doors,hood,fenders with the GT trim,tilt etc etc..  i'll post pics.     thanks again,  Jim

by coupe do you mean hatchback? There is no such thing as a GT coupe/notchback

I am also striping down an 87 for the 5.0 and t-5 . The car is hit hard in the front pass. side, but has alot of nice parts .Sub frame connectors,  after market suspention ,susposted to have a 3.73 posi in it. Is any one in the DFW area interseted is this stuff. Also have a 91 4 cylinder in the junk yard.
