is their any differance in a 67 mustang 289 shortblock weather its a 2bl or 4bl ? thanks

Only if it is a Hipo K code. heads and block, crank and rods are same. Pistons might have different dish volume. Cam probably had a different part number but virtually the same as far as performance goes, if the WAS any difference.

This is my understanding of it...
C code = 289 2v = 190hp
A code = 289 4v = 225hp (higher compression and 4v carb)
K code = 289 hipo = 271hp (same as A code but with a solid lifter cam, dual point distributor and better exhaust manifolds)
I forget the code for the Shelby 289 but it was around 305hp (same as K code but with a slightly larger carb, aluminum intake manifold, and tri-y headers)

"A code = 289 4v = 225hp (higher compression and 4v carb"
Michael has it correct. There was about a 1/2 point higher compression over the 2v. In addition to the above, the 4V had a different cam than the 2V.
My '65 vert is a C code. I have a reground version of the 4v cam awaiting installation along with my Autolite 4100.
