Did a fit test today. My 66 has a Versailles rear end in it. Using a 17x8 Bullitt wheels with 5.72" backspacing, the tire barely clears the quarter panel on the outside, but is hard against the spring on the inside. I had an extra wheel/tire so I thought I would just check and see. Adding a spacer would put the tire into the quarter panel unless the 4x4 stance was first achieved. 245x45 and the 275x40 are both the exact same outside diameter.

Boy that sure is a sweet look though. I'm sure you already have your fender lip rolled?

Yes, they are rolled, but can't roll the springs out of the way! Not easily at least.

Thats the size I have on the back of my 69. I want to try to see if I can get it to fit on the front without rubbing. Then I would run them on all 4.
