If you have installed the 13.2" Late model Mustang GT brakes on your classic using the MustangSteve GT2008-FT bracket set, what wheels did you use? Do you know of any that specifically will NOT work with them? Talking 17" wheels here, but any input on 18's is also appreciated. Trying to create a database to provide known information as to what wheels will fit.
PLEASE READ MY POST # 14 in this thread. I cannot read your mind !!
If you have a picture, that would be a real plus !
Thanks for helping.

Can't wait to hear the feedback on this. Hope it includes some that resemble torq thrust or minilite replicas as that's what I'm hoping to get.

Hard to believe I have sold over 600 sets of those brakes and no one can tell what wheels they are using!

Id like to see some pics also. That would be the setup I would go with also when I get to that point.

May be like a lot of stuff, purchased but not installed. Project started but not completed.

Are you looking at fitment with only the 13.2" rotors and calipers?

Coys C-67. 17"
Very slight interference with caliper. Fabbed 1/8" wheel spacers and figure that when the outside pads wear, the caliper moves towards the disk and clear even more.

I didn't reply earlier because I actually don't have picture of the front brakes on the car. I bought and installed them as soon as Steve offered them for sale and they have had no issues at all. I have put about 8000 miles on the car in the last few years and the brakes have been the only system I have not had to touch.
I have a 66 coupe and I am using the 2003 Mach1 wheels that have been narrowed by 1".

Thanks, BobN.
Are yours 12.5 or 13.2"
I could use data on both sizes

The Coys 67's 17x8 fit with no issues using the 12.5" rotors and NCTO Ford calipers.

Mine are from an '02 Mustang I think. I got them for nothin so I didn't ask a lot of questions. I originally ran them with 1" spacers but then had them narrowed to your specs.

Poncho is that with the 12.5" or 13.2" brakes?

BillyC, yours must be COBRA brakes because I do not offer any other brackets for 02 than COBRA.

If you guys could anser like Gary Patrick did, I would have some good info. Most posts are generating more questions than answers.
EXAMPLE:
I am using 13.2" brakes (or 12.5" brakes)
I have BLAHBLAH wheels in BLAH BLAH size (like 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing)
The fit and cleared fine, or they required a spacer, or some other outcome.
I need to know what brakes you have and what wheels and what, if anything you had to do to make them fit. I am trying to determine what all 17" wheels will clear the 13.2" brakes as well as the 12.5"

GT350. I understand you have Coys C67 17" wheels. Did they clear with no problems and which size brakes do you have? If they did not clear, what did you do to make them clear?
Offline
my buddy was saying the 13.2 calipers hit the inside of his wheels, and he was looking to get the cobra ones instead...I'll try and get more specific info for you
EDIT: I asked him why he was trying to trade the 13.2 stuff for cobra stuff, and here is his response, I've asked him what wheels he was running, I'll post back up when he gets back to me.
Cause they use the same calipers I have from my understanding but with a different bracket and the calipers are too big. They hit the wheel spokes. Cobra calipers are flat in the front
kind of confusing remark from him, but looks like he's saying the 13.2 calipers bubble in front and hit the wheels

sorry steve i think mine were 12.5 no clearance issues on 17x8 wheels

Steve - I have the 13.2 take-offs I bought from Roush on ebay with your brackets. I have 17x8 wheels with 5.75 backspace. I think they are aftermarket wheels that appear to be equivalent to 2004 bullits. I bought them at Carlisle from a drunk guy so....
They fit with juuust enough caliper clearance but I'm using 1" spacers because of the backspace. I never tried to fit them without the spacers. I doubt they would clear without the spacers as it appears the inside diameter narrows a bit as you go inward and if the calipers were further in towards the hub I bet they would rub.
Hope that helps.

Brakes are definitly GT. '02 wheels on 66 coupe.

BillyC,
OK, you have 02 WHEELS, not 02 brakes. The brakes are 05 or newer, but I cannot tell from the picture which size they are. Do you have the 12.5" or the 13.2" brakes?
I had no idea this was going to be so difficult...
