    Pedal Pin Question

    I ordered a used brake pedal for my 65 some time ago and I'm just now getting around to installing it. As soon as I tried to install the brake switch I realised something wasn't right. After doing some research I found out it's a 64 1/2 pedal and the pedal pin is not long enough to install the switch.

    My plan was to drill out the old pin and have a new pin machined until I saw Steve's "PB1" pedal pin.



    Would this solve my problem? Thanks in advance.

    Yes, that will work.  Just grind the riveted head off the old pin and drive it out.  Enlarge the hole to 7/16".  You will need to counterbore the hole so the shoulder on the new pin fits in the hole or the pin will be off center from the master cylinder.  Then weld both sides.

    Or just send me your pedal and I will swap it with one having the correct original pin, if you pay postage.  Since I remove the pins in all the pedals I modify, your 64-1/2 pin won't matter to me.

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.
