66 fastback whats it worth?

Hi all,

I'm thinking about selling my car and would like some feedback on what it's worth.  The car is a 66 A Code fastback with rangoon red exterior and red interior.  It has the original style GT front disc brakes and all of the badges but not a real GT.  I have a 1970 351W in it with C4 automatic.  It has the Pony Interior and console.  I restored the car about 10 years ago and have driven it about 1000 miles since then.  All of the body work and paint were done by non-professional (myself) but looks very good.  Undercarriage is super clean with no undercoating.  Most every part is new and all sheet metal is factory Ford, including fenders and doors.  Rear 1/4s and cowl have been replaced.

I realize that it's hard to be accurate without seeing the car but a ballpark figure would be great.   Thanks in advance.

BTW - I still have my coupe with all of the MustangSteve mods and won't part with it.  And I have a 68 coupe I'm (slowly) restoring.

Got pics?  The way the car presents itself at first glance is a big part of sales price.  Location matters also.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: 66 fastback whats it worth?

Doug,

That question is sort of like saying "Why did the chicken cross the road?"
If I were you, I'd check Hemmings, or other sources like that.  Find "comps" in your area.
Sort of like what you would do with real estate.

And, remember, its worth what someone is willing to pay.
The last time these cars had a "definite" price value is when they were sitting in the show room.

Good luck to you!

Re: 66 fastback whats it worth?

Thanks Steve & Pete!  I live in Northern VA /Washington DC area so have a large area to draw from.  I'm most likely going to drive the car to Carlisle PA for the All Fords show the first weekend in June and sell it there.  Meanwhile I'll check Craigslist & Hemmings, etc.  Weather has been crappy here; will post pics when we get a break from the rain/cold.

Best,

Doug
