Mustang magazine mayhem....

New issues are starting to arrive butt not what was expected.  Cleaning house down at Source Interlink.  Gone are two original Peterson Publication mags, Mustang which was now Modified Mustangs & Fords and 5.0 Mustangs which became 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords.  Checking the labels I'll now be getting Mustang Monthly until Nov 2020 and Hot Rod until May 2017.  I was gifted Rod & Custom and that's out now, Street Rodder comes now.  I decided awhile ago not to renew any subscriptions, my library is getting full and my Ikea shelves aren't really made to hold any real weight, paper is heavy.  So now I have complete sets of Fabulous Mustang, Mustang Illustrated, Mustang  and 5.0 Mustang. Muscle Mustangs still keeps coming so maybe I'll re-up when the time comes.

Re: Mustang magazine mayhem....

I haven't subscribed to any Mustang magazines in years. Fabulous Mustang and Exotic Fords as well as Mustang Illustrated were my two favorites but, unfortunately neither are around anymore.

It's also around the time MI disappeared that the remaining Mustang magazines became much thinner (less pages), leaner on actual content and much heavier on advertisement content.

The older magazines often had really good articles and often included tips or articles on wrecking yard parts, to make low-buck upgrades with, and didn't contain an over abundance of filler (advertisement). I haven't picked up any recent Mustang publications to look through them but, I bet you don't find any wrecking yard upgrade articles in them now. You will find, however, stuff like Wilwood or Baer disc brake conversion articles, for example --although the article is often brief and nothing more than a glorified infomercial for the product.

I can find pretty much anything on the internet that I want to know, or are interested in, about a particular swap or subject and just haven't felt a need to spend $5.00 a copy for something that's (anymore) light on content and heavy on advertising.
