So I finally got around to installing my new Gear vendors unit on the army truck. And putting about 400 miles on it so far. The only problem I had was do to the uniqueness of this truck having a 208 transfer case. The GV adapter has a vent on top that requires a brass fitting (Included in the kit), BUT not mentioned in the instructions. The techs at GV didn't even know what it was for? So it was burping ah little trans fluid out in the morning. I finally got ah tech that went and looked for himself and figured it out and now alls well. This thing is ah MUST HAVE! for ah truck like this, but I would never put one on my mustang. With ah big CLUNK! ,It's slow to engauge and disengauge. the gear splitting thing would be a complete wast of time for ah sports car. And at $3300.00 + $366.00 for an aluminum drive shaft ,Total $3666.00 you could install any number of O.D. trans instead. Also this thing is BIG! I would imagine you'd have to cut the trans tunnel to fit this 60lbs unit in an early mustang........
