My 64 1/2 restomod

I bought this car in 2002 for 1K was not running, had 6 inline, manual trans. I knew I wanted a daily driver so I knew I wanted to put in a fuel injected motor, At the same time I bought the 64 1/2 I had a 90 mustang gt so I thought about using that drive train for my classic but then I changed my mind because that is a common swap, so i had decided on doing a 4.6 engine swap, I wasnt really interested in performance I just wanted something different I had a friend that had a 96 cobra we had so much fun with that car until he blew the engine he replaced that engine with a crate engine from ford to put in on his 96 cobra, he drove it for like 3 months on new engine until it was in an accident, was hit from the back so I jumped on it and bought the car from him to use the drivetrain for my classic, the drivetrain was not damaged in accident. Its been an awesome project for me, im enjoying every bit of it but more on March of 2013 since thats when I started driving it.

this was 2 years after i bought it

shock towers are gone and R&C MII welded

Re: My 64 1/2 restomod

I think your biggest obstacle is going to be not driving it when you get the paint done.
Also that poor cobra really got its tail end smacked pretty good.

Nice job...I bet that thing rips with that engine.  I know it really doesn't matter but what does it get for mileage?

Thank you.. To tell you the truth i have no idea on the MPG but i sure wanna find out. Btw how do those gears work for you? I have 3.50 now but thinking of going 3.70 or 4.11 what do you recomend? Im running a t-45 5 speed trans.

Here is a video of a drive i did..

My son has a 99 Cobra.  It came with 3.27's.  He put in a set of 4.10's which made 1st gear useless as a DD.  He then went to 3.73's and it is a great balance for his 20 mile commute.

Re: My 64 1/2 restomod

Great write-up.  Great car!

That hood scoop has good proportions for the car and looks like it belongs.  I like the lights behind the grille, also.

Re: My 64 1/2 restomod

I kept waiting for you to lite em up! Again, beautiful car and I think you nailed the stance.  The wheels fill the wheel wells nicely as well.

Very nice car. I prefer the last wheels you used on it though. Nice work.

Re: My 64 1/2 restomod

That's a great looking car.  I'm in the middle of building a 64 1/2 vert restomod right now that is just about ready to go into the paint booth and the color I picked looks very similar to yours.

Love the grill and fog lights.  What fog lights did you use?

I also like the black trim that you did, is that paint or plastidip?

Finally, what size wheels and tires were you using in the Voxx video?

Thanks!
