NO the stripes dont wrap under. they are painted not decals, as far as the edge, there will be less edge on this hood than the rest of the car. He is going to block the edges of the stripes then shoot another coat or 2 of clear on. thats what should have been done 5 years ago to the entire car

Lokks great T!.....I can only suggest one thing to make it ABSOLUTELY perfect. Install a camshaft with about 260* duration on an LSA of about 106* and install it advanced about 8*. That would make that scoop REALLY dance around under that hood!!

It would probably shake the paint right off that new hood!!!!!
Offline
That looks good!
If it was a NEW Mustang, they would probably have little computer controlled servos attached to it under the hood to make it shake because the engine is too smooth.

Terry, here is what Irie would look like if you stripe the shaker.

Hey T, I sanded the black paint off of the tops of all those ribs on top of the scoop, breaks up all the black look. I think it looks better that way but that's just my opinion. Just wanted to make the suggestion.

Greg, where did you get that picture?? I'd like to see that car!!
Terry, When I bought that scoop it had sort of silver ribs on it, I suppose that is the cast aluminum showing thru. After handling that scoop for so long off and on the car test fitting I had it scratched up so I repainted it. I have not decided what I will do with the ribs yet. I am waiting on the paint to cure for a month before I put the trim ring on the hood and finishing up this project! Thanks for the suggestion!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
