I used the peel and seal product 8 years ago on my 69 Fastback. Have had no problems whatsoever. No smell, no peeling, no oozing. Also I put back all replacement factory type matting for x tra sound proofing / heat resistance. I can now carry on a conversation at highway speeds with very little road noise and my feet no longer burn up on long trips from the headers and exhaust.

Thanks. I'll work on weatherstrip and seals too. Good info. Thanks.

I am using STINGER EXPERT ROAD KILL. it is a fine product and was affordable they don't have a 6 billion dollar advertising budget like some of the big names. I am tired of all the rattles in my 65 fastback. All the fiberglass interior panels are rattle traps and are getting pieces stuck to the back, no need to completely cover. You can tell by tapping on them if they will rattle or thud. Also the chrome trim on the quarter vents is loose and can rattle so I put beads of caulking around the back mounting areas. I will also do the floors and the areas inside the quarters. I won't be removing my headliner or door panels at this point because if I tear the car apart any further I won't be back on the road this summer. I am not trying to make it as quiet as a BMW, what fun would that be? I have some bubble wrap type material for a second layer for heat. It was cheap and they advertise on the HAMB forum.

I used Fatmat? or some such thing as well as the Dynomat and some Lizard skin? or what ever and it took a lot of time. Minor change. I spent much less time and fixed the fit of all the weatherstripping around the doors and windows and trunk which made a much better improvement.
DC, the Lizardskin is a spray on type of coating. What do you think of it? They have one product for heat resistance and another product for noise reduction. Since it is a spray on I am very tempted to spray the floor pans and firewall of the car both inside and out ( since they allow one on the other) once it is on the rotissere and has a few coats of Epoxy.
