I have a 67 coupe. A 72 302 and a 66 4 speed T10. This is a conversion that I am doing. Problem #1: Upper clutch rod does not seem to fit. Bought from Mustangs unlimited. Problem #2: Lower clutch adjustment rod seems to be to long. Also wants to hit my Tri"Y" headers. All in all, it has been an experience. Starting from scratch and putting all the pieces together. Every time you turn a corner it is something else. Looking for any help or advice. I can't be the only one to come across this?

more details and photos would be helpful.
is your bell housing and clutch fork correct for your year?
do you have an orig style 3 finger clutch or a diaphragm?
even the factory shelby headers had to be dented for clearance in some cases . . most tri y's dont clear the linkage.

When I installed tri-y's in my '67 coupe I had to make a new longer upper clutch rod and a shorter lower clutch rod to make the z-bar clear the headers... sounds like the same problem your'e experiencing.
I just made custom rods using heim joints on the ends.

Most of the '66 Mustang four speeds I have seen had the "Top Loader" transmission. I think it was more common. Are you sure the parts you are buying are for the BW T-10?

I did the same thing. Works pretty slick with no binding. Steve69
