1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

Anyone out there know if a 1967/68 instrument cluster w/tach housing is available from the aftermarket? I've looked and I don't think it is. Please prove me wrong.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

It appears that only standard cluster housings are available.  So your options are going to be limited to used parts.

That's what I was afraid of. Anybody have one for a reasonable price?

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

Try posting in the classified section or starting another thread to get max exposure.  Its a pretty good size community here, someone may have one, but you need to try to get as many members as possible to see it so the right one can hopefully hook you up.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

If you don't find anything on line you can always adapt aftermarket gages into the original bezel. Probobly will be more accurate than the O/E stuff.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

The tach car and non tach car use the same instrument cluster housing. Adding the tach is where it gets expensive. check out the link to NPD.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

They use the same bezel for sure, but the housing (metal part) is listed as '67-'68 w/o tach in the catalogs I've seen.  I can't say for sure as I've never tried to use one with a tach cluster, but I don't think they'd add that disclaimer if it wasn't true.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

They're not the same. I have a refurbished original tach or I would consider aftermarket gauges.

Re: 1967-1968 Tach cluster housing

I read too much into the original post. I saw that and thought you wanted all of it. NPD says the gauges can be used to convert non tach dashes, but that’s more than you need.  After looking at google images, I see the difference.
The part number on the back of my tach housing is C7ZF 10843.
On the bright side, it looks like “The Tach Man” has started fabricating the housings!! It will work for 1967 but is not "correct" according to the add.

Thanks for the heads up, BTTF! I had heard that he was making them but never could find it.
