Solenoid yellow single wire

On a 66 I have yellow and black wires together that go to the positive side of the solenoid. Attached to that section is a single yellow wire with a bullet connector. For some reason my harness has no trace of this yellow single wire. Where does this wire come from?  I know it plugs into the harness that goes to solenoid from the back. I know this wire should be there because I see it on a friends car.

Re: Solenoid yellow single wire

If I understand your post correctly, my schematic shows the yellow wire goes to terminal "A" on the alternator voltage regulator.
I hope this helps.

Re: Solenoid yellow single wire

Yellow wire looks like it would tap off the Black/yellow wire the goes to the + side of the solenoid. The bullet connector plugs in near the fire wall plug. This in turn goes through the fire all to the Amp meter. The other side of the amp meter should be a red wire that returns to the firewall plug, through the fire wall back to the solenoid. Do you have an amp meter? If this yellow wire is not connected the only problem you wil have is the amp meter will not work.

If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.
