A/C fittings hard to find?

I had an explosion under my tow vehicle yesterday, turned out to be the adapter for the connection from an Aluminum tube that crosses over under the van where it connects to the hose for the rear air. Can't find anything like it anywhere. It is a no 6 line, the high pressure ofcourse. Does anyone where has those kind of things? OBTW the cloud of freon was impressive!

Re: A/C fittings hard to find?

Google ac fittings. There are onlne stores that specialize, plus most auto parts stores have a paper catalog with available fittings they can order for you.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: A/C fittings hard to find?

try www.nostalgicairparts.com and also www.coldhose.com
They have a bunch of universal A/C parts that should get you fixed.
If you need to make a replacement hose, just order enough hose, cut it to length and any hydraulic supply shop will crimp it for you. I think I payed $25 to have all three of my hoses crimped.

Re: A/C fittings hard to find?

I finally had to buy two hose ends, one with each end of the adapter to cut and weld to make the connection. One end is SAE and the other is metric. Had to cut the nut on the metric end to get it off too.
