Just wanted to hear what everyone was working on over the winter? Any updates, any progress? Any photos to share?
Thanks!

I'll be painting my car. I was going to do it in bc/cc silver, but became concerned about being able to lay down a perfect base of the silver metallic w/ no debris (painting in my garage), so I've decided to go with a single stage non-metallic so there is no question I can cut and buff it. Going back to the drawing board on the color - just know it has to be non-metallic.

Re-wiring my gages, did it kind of half a.. the first time, pulling the steering box and sending it off to be rebuilt and if funds allow replace rear drums with 08 GT discs.

Figure out why my 08 GT front with 97 Exploder rear brakes don't brake like they should...this setup otta put you through the windshield but it seems a bit dead.
Also hope to find out where my new coolant leak is coming from. A month after the Bash it started leaving a very slow-growing puddle of coolant on the floor.

Lots of odds and ends. The Old Horse needs some TLC. I have a list of over 20 items like new sway bar bushings, add some mounting points to the gas line, replace the TCP strut rods with stockers to soften the ride, add power steering, clean up the under dash wiring, replace the rear shocks, etc, etc. That will keep me busy for the cold months.

Going to install new rear springs, 8 inch with discs and redo the tail light panel for Shelby lights. Might semi french them.

Dialing in the 67. New global west front sway bar to hopefully solve my interference with the strut rods. The ride is also way to stiff. So different shocks and maybe front springs. Recommendations welcome. Also want to swap out the rearend. I have the 8.8 posi with 3.73 out of the 87 fox , but with Explorer rearend for $200. Probably the way to go.

He offered to air bruch a small running pony on the tail light panel. It was going to have a large set of......testicles attached. (He loves the way it sounds)
I declined............I may drive it to church some time!

Hopefully get the 5.0 back from machine shop to put in daughters 65. Put Borgeson unit in, since eng. will be out of the way.

Waiting for CJPony's January 30% off sale. I will grab some LED front parking lights and some LED backup lights. They will go well with my Mustang Project LED sequential rear tail lights, my GT fog lights and my '66 variety Rally Pac. All of these rather expensive items were purchased at dead winter discount prices. All you need is a little patience.

1. Install photoelectric courtesy light switches in door jams.
2. Install self changing wiper blades.
3. Install self parking automatic trans shifter. It automatically puts itself in park if vehicle is fully stopped for 30 seconds.
4. Install dial-a-gear variable ratio rear end.
5. Try to figure out how to tune my lawn tractor.
Sounds like fun, huh.
Merry Christmas, everybody. To those of you who find this offensive, please accept my totally insincere apology.
Best,
Al

Install passenger side quarter, install subframe connectors. Install under ride traction bars. Install battery relocation kit and finally install the exploder rear disc brakes...still mid 50's in upstate NY!

Front end rebuild and four wheel GT brake conversion on a 65, then a big radiator and fog light install on another 65, then install a set of Granada discs on a 67, then cobra rear discs on Al's fastback. After that, I plan to install an entire new rear end assembly under my fastback. I finally determined the right side of the housing must be slightly tweaked and that is what causes the bearing to start to vibrate at 72 MPH. After 23 years of putting up with that problem, it will finally be replaced. And if anyone has a Versailles rear housing laying around, I will have a nice 3.50:1 traction lock with N case and a pair of Currie axles for sales that would make a nice rear end for someone!
Before the bash, I might replace my seeping water pump. Edelbrock lasted about a year before it started seeping out the hole Then my car will finally be "finished". Until I dream up something else to do to it.

My goal is to get my garage finished, then the Lightning running and out of the way for the Mustang.

I was fortunate and got my garage done last winter.
Installing MS cobra rear and GT front discs, a TCP rack and pinon (thanks Steve50) and Shelby drop (thanks Daze, it worked like a charm) into the 70 Mach. With shiny new wheels and fat tires. Then adding some of the other broken worn out things that I find during that tear-down. (MS Rule) Like a MS clutch bearing repair kit and... Thinking about a summer trip to Montrose. It is a nice place to go and a nice time of year to go there.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's everyone, I learn a bunch from this site!
MS, does a Versailles pumpkin fit a regular housing? A 3:50 traction lok might be in my future.
