ride height

Hi all!

on my 66 coupe, I'm not satisfied at all with my ride height.

I had a look to MS page on the subject and my reading is that 1" difference between front and rear measures gives a nice horizontal ride and that 1-1/2" difference gives a little more agressive look.

my question is: what's the difference in height before and after a 1/3 coil cut? how much does it drop?

Actually my car sits weird.
front : 1" armin/shelby drop / 1" lowering coils / today everything has 3000 miles since full replacement.
and I measure 14-1/2 on each side which is supposed to be the original height.
So now I start wondering if they didn't send me regular height springs...

rear : 4,5 leafs mid-eye / standard poly shackles
and I measure 14-3/8

I'm lost !
I don't know what to do but it looks wrong.

Be careful, chrome won't get you home!

Re: ride height

I cut my 620s 1/3 coil. Dropped about 1/2 inch.

I'd start by cutting 1/3 coil........see what that gets ya.
IF everything goes worng(which sometimes does when I do it!) you can always buy a thicker spring isolator and put it in the top of your springs. They are sold in a variety of thicknesses.

Re: ride height

Also, remember to Final tighten\torque with the Weight on the Suspension. I know some folks will say, give it time and it will "Settle".. I don't believe this as mine sat the same for 10 years once I put in my lowered springs and such. Never got any lower... I have since upgraded to Bolt In Coil-overs up front and a 4 Link in the rear....
