2008 fan motor trouble

My wife's 2008 v6 mustang is having trouble over heating due to the electric fan not kicking in when it is supposed to. I have replaced the relay under the dash twice and it continues to not work properly. Has anyone else heard of this or had this problem?

Re: 2008 fan motor trouble

How about the temp sensor. Did you try having codes read?

If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

Re: 2008 fan motor trouble

Had that problem on our 2011 Flex. Had to replace the fan. Fan controller is embedded in the fan motor. Ford wanted $800 to do it. Bought new Ford OEM fan from RockAuto for $200 and it took 20 minutes to install.
Not sure if yours is same but probably is.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.
