I agree with ya, cool but? I doesn't look like anything locks the pivot point when its up. Think you would have a hard time convincing me to work under that.

It appears that the only thing locking it is the gear drive. That's not good enough for me. Cool idea but I would want some kind of secure locking mechanism.

Could always "prop a 4 X4 under it!" Like jack stands.....I don't (most of the time) get under the car without jackstands in place. Same deal here,I guess?!

6SALLY6,
LOOKS LIKE IT IS RIGHT UP YOUR ALLEY. YOU ALWAYS LIKE CREATIVE THINGS. THIS WOULD BE LIVING BEYOND THE EDGE OF DANGER.

It's a double scissor jack with locking pins like the old style jack stands. Looks safe enough. The teeter totter is interesting. I would use an auxiliary screw jack to keep the vehicle where I wanted it. Looks like a poor man's two post lift. Good for wheel, brake, and suspension work. Be good for changing rear ends. Just unbolt the rear and tilt the back of the car up so you can roll the entire rear end assembly out, then roll the new one in.

I cannot believe anyone did proper engineering on that one. No way would I get under a car lifted up by that.

Well, the inventor came up with the design in 1994 and has been selling them from his factory in the Czech Republic since then. The original design was for 1500 kg. The lift has been upgraded to 3000 kg (6600 lbs). I don't think I would try to use it for my 6000 lb pickup, but for my 3000 lb Mustangs, sure. In fact, this lift looks perfect for my second garage. I'm going to look into buying one.

Well, so much for that idea, I cannot find a North American distributor. Plus, the price is 963 euros in the Czech Republic. That Ranger mini lift is looking better and better.
