Update:

So I went to the doctor and was given the news that I only severely pulled a lower back muscle on my right side. No herniated disc so that is good! Doc says most likely resulted when I picked up the 9",laid down, and contorted my body in a weird way while lying under the car. Bending down and straightening my back caused me to pull it bad.

Now that I think about it, I picked up that housing with horrible form. Ive been to "Lifting Heavy Objects Squat Class 101" taught by steve before, but I just forgot to squat and bent down just using my waist (like a donkey)

Doc says I should be 100% within a couple of weeks. Brought home some muscle relaxers so I will be on cloud 9 here shortly.

Thanks for all the support guys, y'all really encouraged me and uplifted my spirits.

OK, more advice - and from someone you don't know.  But I speak from experience.  My advice is not about what to do once you've hurt your back, but how to prevent it in the first place, possibly for the rest of your life.  I'm getting ready to retire in a few years and I've never had a serious back issue.  I'm convinced that it's because I've always made it a point to do a lot of exercises that target the core.  So once you heal, I suggest you start doing that: light deadlifts, rowing, planks, crunches, ets.

Re: Ramses installs new rear end in his car, nearly loses his own

Ramses,  my X-rays are exactly like Rudi's same levels same screws!  I'm going on 8 yrs. and I have never stopped being in pain. Pills don't work for me, nothing does. Well maybe a bottle of whiskey, but it's temporary.  Reason I saying all this is, I know exactly when my back went out. I was taking out a "9 rear end out of a 77 F150. Twisted the wrong way and that changed my life.
I hope this episode taught you, to always be careful with your body. Don't take any chances and end up likes us guys with bad backs!
