Not Mustang related: anyone here from ft lauderdale? planning a july

trying to plan a trip from SC to ft lauderdale fl.  I have Karate Nationals in ft lauderdale and was wondering  on making an extended vacation out of it. what to do, where to go, etc. either in ft lauderdale or some must see sights on the way down. want to break up the long drive.  I apologize for posting this on the mustang fyi forum.

There is Don Garlits museum in Ocala!  I've never stopped but I hear its a good stop

That would be a good 2 or 3 hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale though. Although it is worth it...

Been the the Garlits museum 3 times it takes a while to see it all.  Well worth the stop.

Ron he is driving from SC.  although he will probably drive down 95 rather than 75.  St augustine is interesting

Garlits Museum is pretty darn cool! You may see him "hobbleing" around there!!
A side trip down part of A1A highway could be fun. Usta had to take a ferry on part of it. Reminds me a little of Route 66.
Of course there are the alligator farms and other hokey/cool stuff too.
Grab a what-to-do-in Fla brochure and "pick-your-poison!

Check out this website. My sister-in-law publishes the local Travelhost Magazine for Fort Lauderdale. It is probably the best resource available for what to do if you are a visitor.
