It's a 2012 Boss with three blowers, Nitro (not nitrus) injection, and partridge WITH the pear tree...I don't know what all it has, Michael, butt...it runs.

It's a "store bought" new(ish) Mustang. Hit do have a rootes type blower and EVEN WITH factory traction control.....it starts to gitt'in side-wise in 3rd gear! Axe me how I know.
In Mississippi terms........"itsa bad'un"

It's had a few extras added!! I believe the super charger is 1 1/4 over driven along with a methanol injection system I believe he said it was 648 hp at the rear wheels. I have a video of the burnout but can't get it to post.

I've heard that, but never had a chance to meet him.
I need to find out who he uses for machine shop work in our area. At some point I need to have the heads from the 390 in my '68 F100 reworked.

I have a You tube account that I uploaded it to, then linked it. I tried to upload it directly from my laptop but it wouldn't

Michael,
I would use Freddie Walker at the Universal Auto Parts machine shop (NAPA Store) in downtown Laurel. He's been rebuilding engines since 1975 at least when he taught me how to recondition connecting rods at the old Christian Auto shop. If he can't fix your 390 heads then they can't be fixed.
Just for the record, my mustang ain't got nitro or nitrous OR a pear tree, although I do enjoy eating them. It does have a Roush TVS supercharger and a Snow methanol injection just for a little cooling effect. It only makes 676 at the rear tires but still gets 23 miles to the gallon and will run somewhere north of 165 mph, given sufficient pavement.
Way north from what I have seen. :-)
Oh yeah, I do not have a line lock either.
If you see a blue 2012 Boss 302 tooling around Laurel sometime then its probably me.

I've heard other people recommend Freddie at Universal Auto Parts. I've heard nothing but good things about his work. He just built a 289 for one of my friends... but my friend said it's hard to get machine work done by him these days 'cause he's so swamped after Christian Auto's machine shop closed.
Only 676 rwhp he says...haha... I guess a fella could get by on that, maybe.
About a month or two ago my wife sent me a pic of a dark blue boss 302 parked in the parking lot of the clinic she works at (Jones Family Medicine Clinic). It was beautiful. Was that you? If so, my wife is very envious of your car that only makes 676 at the rear wheels (and I am too).

That was me alright.
There is a machine shop in Waynesboro that has two excellent guys there, Sanford Odom and Lynn McCullough that can also do your heads. They have also been doing it for longer than I care to remember but I do not remember the name of their shop that is located on Court Street.

Wow...small world.
Thanks for the update, but I think I'll stick with Freddie at Napa. Several years back I dated a girl from Waynesboro and it didn't end well... and she has a lot of family out there. They're probably over it by now, but I try to steer clear of Waynesboro nonetheless...lol

Gota hear that story some time!!!

Not much to tell really. She was a sweet girl, but her family was like the Darling Family from the Andy Griffith Show (except less musical). We dated for a few months, but then things started coming to the surface that I realized I just couldn't live with for the rest of my life. We just weren't as compatible as I originally thought, so I ended it.
Her family was convinced that we were going to get married (even though we'd had no talk of marriage and had not done anything more intimate than kissing), but when I ended it you would have thought that I had murdered somebody or that I had used her (I didn't).
Now, don't misunderstand me. I know it hurt the poor girl ('cause I've been dumped plenty of times myself), and I still feel terrible about hurting her, but it was either end it then, before it went any further, or marry her anyway and be miserable for the rest of my life.
Anyway...about a year and a half later I met the girl who would eventually become my wife, and the rest is history. We're coming up on 7 years of marriage in September.
Boy, I'll tell you.... I do not miss dating even a little bit!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
