I would like to add a neutral safety switch with back up lights. The wiring appears to be in place - two plug connectors at the fire wall and two plug connectors coming from the switch. Is there more to it than that? Is there some wiring under the dash that needs to be addressed? Seems to me that I had to bypass the switch somehow to get the car running, but I can't remember.

what happened to the original NSS?

Bought a C4 out of TCI. It came with a universal hot rod shift bracket with no provision for the switch. I have since had that trans rebuilt with the correct shaft assembly and I want to get the switch installed.

There is a Red/Blue (#32) wire that goes from the ignition switch to the start position on the solenoid. To use the neutral safety switch you have to unplug this under the dash and plug into the neutral safety switch wire.

Thanks, that diagram helps a lot! Now I have to get under the dash some how to disconnect and reconnect. I don't bend so well anymore.
I have read on line that you also have to "calibrate" the NSS by inserting a drill bit (or similar item) into some alignment holes on the switch. Anyone out there with experience on this part of the installation?
